On the 19th sees the annual "Peak District 100", the charity cycle event has been organised in conjunction with "Action Medical Research" a children's charity, so its all for a good cause. Competitors will aim to complete either 100 kilometres or a 100-mile route depending on their ability or experience. The race starts from the town of Dore at the Sports Pavilion it will be a test of the rider's fitness and off-road cycling skills.

But taking a vacation in the Peak District does not mean just hiking, running, biking, and climbing. Yes, the Peak District is also one of the most romantic places you can bring your loved one to. Paris may be the first thing that comes to the minds of holiday goers when they think about romantic destinations, but overlooking this idyllic spot in the United Kingdom may very well be your biggest mistake.

This year Derbyshire Food & Drink Fair is taking place at Hardwick Hall during May 26 - 27. The Food & Drink Fair will have over 150 stalls showcasing a wide range of local produce from around the Derbyshire Peak District and beyond. The celebrity chef Simon Rimmer will be one of the chefs demonstrating in the cookery theatre. There will also be activities for children to participate and enjoy, as well as the opportunity for visitors to explore the beautiful house and gardens of the magnificent Hardwick Hall.

On the final Sunday of the month see's one of the longest running cycle events in the Peak District which is the "Polaris Challenge". The Polaris Challenge event spans over two days, which combines mountain biking with navigation (mountain bike orienteering). The fact is open to both solo riders and teams who have to ride and navigate across the rugged landscape between allotted checkpoints. The Polaris event always attracts large audiences and competitor number in this beautiful countryside location.
